• About the Department:
Group Operations department oversees the entire functioning of the "Group Insurance Plans", which covers employees of an organization or members of the group. It is responsible to provide efficient customer service and ensure processing of the claims within pre-defined TAT and regulatory norms.


• Purpose of the Role:

As a Chief Manager, the role includes managing the team and ensuring quality checks within the department. It involves handling complex cases and identifying the process gaps by leading the implementation process.

Duties & Responsibilities:


Operations Metrics:
1. End to end adherence to TAT, SLA management and processing of all New Business and Policy servicing transactions for Group business across channels and touch-points. Monitor and ensure compliance to board metrics


2. Ensure adherence of quality parameters such as concurrent audits, SDA, AIRr etc. and reduction/elimination of errors through system or process interventions


3. Manage and display adequate controls measures and monitoring across various processes with a view to enable efficient processing and also reduce overall risks for the function and organization


4. Manage and handle channel expectations and sales relationship. Have a continuous governance process put in place for channel partners and work towards resolution of pain-points, if any.


5. Review of all upcoming and existing regulatory guidelines and displaying appropriate control reports/checks for adherence of the same under guidance of seniors.


6. Spearhead tracking, reporting and closing of all deviations noted with concerned authorities such as risk council, audit and compliance, statutory auditors etc.


Initiatives and Projects:


7. Be a part of Functional/Strategic initiatives which have large impact at organization level with 100% achievement of the project objectives.


8. Ensure continuous process improvement by constantly looking at introducing automation initiatives such as RPA and other tools in order to eliminate non value adds.


9. Develop a strategic outlook and plan for the function and department. Ensure continued focus through interventions such as process efficiency, cost optimization, digitization initiatives etc.


People:
10. Lead the teams towards the desired goals by coaching and mentoring, work on employee engagement thus driving ESAT and CSAT scores for the unit and function


11. Relationship management across key functions such as Sales, Process, Audit, BS&T, Legal, Products at Corporate office and branches.


12. Co-ordinating with cross-functional departments to ensure optimal customer satisfaction.


  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Academic Qualification: Graduate/Post Graduate.
    • Work Experience: 8+ years’ experience in Insurance Industry.
    • Basic knowledge of KYC and AML.
    • Awareness of Life-Asia System.
